Progress Environmental is appointed by Calgon Carbon's UV Technologies Division

July 21, 2005 Chesterfield, Missouri: Progress Environmental, a leading manufacturers representative firm specializing in advanced water and wastewater transfer and treatment systems, announced today it has been named the new representative for CALGON CARBON's UV Technologies Division

Calgon Carbon, a global leader in water purification and wastewater treatment, will broaden the company's offering in UV Drinking Water Systems, UV Oxidation Systems, and for Disinfection of Municipal Wastewater. The wide range of capabilities offered by Calgon's UV Systems will allow Progress Environmental to help their customers comply with more stringent water quality standards and effluent regulations.

Calgon Carbon Corporation's UV Technologies Division has installed hundreds of systems for treating a broad spectrum of contaminated groundwater, wastewater, process water, and drinking water.

More than 20 years ago, Calgon Carbon introduced an advanced UV oxidation process to remediate contaminated groundwater. In 1998, they followed that up with the first radical breakthrough in the treatment of drinking water in decades. That's when Calgon's scientists invented a process that could be used to inactivate Cryptosporidium and other similar pathogens in surface water, rendering them harmless to humans. This inventive process placed Calgon Carbon on the leading edge of UV disinfection technology.

With the Sentinel® line for drinking water, the C3 Series™ for wastewater, and the Rayox® line for groundwater and process water, Calgon Carbon continues to lead the marketplace with innovative UV technologies.
