Brackett BOSKER™ Raking Machine is Selected for MSD Baumgartner Pumping Station

October 15, 2003 St. Louis, Missouri: The Brackett Green Brackett BOSKER™ has been pre-selected by MSD and Horner & Shifrin for installation in the course screening structure of the new Baumgartner Pumping Station. The BOSKER™ was chosen for its ability to provide automatic and reliable course screening in a station almost 200 feet deep. In addition, all maintenance can be performed at the operating floor level so that operations personnel should never have to enter the wet well area. The BOSKER also eliminates the need for separate conveyor or screenings handling systems.

For the Baumgartner Station, Two BOSKER™ raking heads will be installed on an overhead trolley system. One raking head will automatically clean two bar racks installed in open channels approximately 200 feet below the operating floor. The redundant raking head will provide for 100% standby. After each cleaning cycle, the raking head will automatically bring the screened materials to the operating floor level, transport the load to the screenings area and deposit it in a screenings bin for disposal.

Brackett Green is part of the Advanced Water Screening Technology Division of the Brackett Group, a 100 year old company originating in the U.K. Brackett Green designs and manufactures a wide variety of heavy-duty, custom designed, course and fine screens for water intakes, wastewater plants, CSO facilities, power plants, and storm drainage pumping stations.
