Eimco Water Technologies Carrousel™ Process Selected for Plant Upgrade at City of St. Peters, Missouri

May 1, 2009 - Chesterfield, MO: The City of St. Peters, Missouri has selected the Eimco Water Technologies Carrousel™ Process for the expansion at the City Wastewater Treatment Facility. Eimco Water Technologies will supply six (6) new 200 hp dual impeller aerators, VFD controls, and the innovative ACE™ automatic dissolved oxygen DO control system. Black & Veatch, the consulting engineer for the City of St. Peters, performed an extensive review of alternatives and recommended the Carrousel™ System for its successful track record at the plant, energy efficiency, high effluent quality, and ease of operation.

The Carrousel® System is a simple, reliable, and highly efficient oxidation ditch for treating municipal and industrial wastewater. Carrousel Systems have been proven in hundreds of plants ranging in size from 0.1 to 300 MGD. The Dual Impeller Aerator incorporates a specialized "lower turbine" which is attached to the same shaft as the Carrousel System surface aerator. Locating the lower turbine near the floor of the basin directs mixing energy along the floor, thus augmenting channel velocities provided by the surface impeller.

The ACE™ Control System provides automated real-time process control and power optimization for the Carrousel System. This is accomplished by integrating dissolved oxygen (DO) monitoring and automatic aerator control with a customized operating algorithm.

Progress Environmental will also provide new sludge and scum pumping equipment manufactured by WEMCO Pump and new pump controls manufactured by Digital Control Company.
